Recover the Mac Kamap loader's 40-byte version buffers

checked · by eejitgames · submitted 2026-11-07

Mac002b804a stores its stack version buffer as one undefined byte and Mac00549443 as a one-byte global, although the loader copies and tokenizes a version string in the stack region and strcpy copies it to the global. Recover char[40] at both Mac sites. The stack spans EBP-38..-11 before the saved guard atEBP-10; its marker scan uses a40-byte limit. Both corresponding Windows objects are already40 bytes. The Mac global extent is inferred from that paired Windows object and the same stack-to-global copy; the next Mac symbol is41 bytes away, allowing one alignment byte. This is storage recovery, not a parser-bound or loader-API change. The existing terminator boundary behavior is documented in the evidence; the guard and neighboring globals remain outside these arrays.

Changes 2, applied together

  1. Retype variable mac 0x002b804a Stack[-0x3c]

    typeundefined→char[40]
  2. Retype global mac 0x00549443

    typeundefined (1 bytes)→char[40]
